How in-browser video upscaling works

  1. Your clip is demuxed into frames locally with WebAssembly FFmpeg — it never leaves your device.
  2. Each frame runs through the Real-ESRGAN super-resolution model (ONNX, WebGPU when available).
  3. Upscaled frames are re-encoded to H.264 MP4 with your original audio track.

Tips for best results

  • Keep clips short (≤ 15s) — AI per frame adds up quickly on long videos.
  • 2× is the sweet spot for most footage; use 4× for maximum detail on a WebGPU device.
  • For old or noisy sources, remove compression artifacts first for a cleaner upscale.
